Support for Older Adults

Feeling low or anxious isn’t just part of getting older. Get back to feeling like yourself with free, confidential NHS support for over 55s.

Life brings major shifts as we move through our 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond. From changing careers or entering retirement, to managing health changes or adjusting to new routines, it is easy to put your own needs on the back burner.

While it is completely natural for life transitions to bring feelings of stress, worry, or low mood, struggling in silence is never something you simply have to accept. NHS Talking Therapies offer free, confidential, and evidence-based psychological support designed to help you regain your confidence and peace of mind.

You don’t need a GP referral, self-refer today online or by phone.

You’re not alone

Our research into emotional health for adults over 55 revealed how often people downplay their own mental wellbeing. Recognising how common these feelings are is often the very first step toward taking control and getting back to feeling like yourself.

  • 33% of over 55’s believe feeling low is just a normal part of ageing
  • 31% of people aged 55+ prefer to manage their feelings themselves
  • 23% of over‑55s believe their problems aren’t serious enough to seek help
