Professional therapist - couple session

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies provides therapy services for people in the local area, including Mansfield, Ashfield and Newark & Sherwood, who are struggling with their mental health and wellbeing.

No matter how patients are feeling, they are not alone. The talking therapies service see patients that are feeling:

The NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies mental health service also supports patients who are struggling to cope with their mental health because they have a long term condition, like diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, chronic pain and mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Patients who are feeling this way may have one of the several common mental health problems, like generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), depression and low mood or post-traumatic stress disorder.

Talking therapies are delivered in various forms and could include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including digital CBT, guided self-help, CBT sessions and webinars
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), which helps for processing past traumas
  • Talking Therapies for Couples, which can help couples understand how and why difficulties have occurred in past and present relationships
  • Mindfulness Based Programmes, like Mindfulness for Depression and Mindfulness for Health, which increases understanding of how we respond to our needs

Sessions are delivered in a one-to-one format, online or in group sessions, depending on which type of therapy is best for your patient.

Your patients are able to self-refer themselves to our mental health service at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies, either via our Limbic referral assistant or online form. As a GP or healthcare professional, you can only refer patients via the online form method.
